So we found out some information today about our 3D printer issue. The only way to fix it is it send it back in and get it repaired. We also found out that this will take 2-3 weeks to be repaired, not counting the shipping time. This being said, were not going to be working on our Cyborg Beast Hand for awhile...

For the past few prints our extruder was having issues printing correctly. We have found a solution, which is raising the extruder manually with a computer program. So far this has worked but we haven't fully completed a print to find out. Hopefully it did work, and we won't have the problem again!
Our prints from the other day came out perfectly, exactly how we wanted them. But today we ran into a problem, when we went to print our next set of items we didn't know our specifications that we used for our previous prints. This caused us to have to just guess and choose randomly, and we can only hope that they are the same on all the other pieces so far. We now recorded the specifications we used this time, so hopefully it wont happen again. Other than that though, today went fine. Tell you guys what happens next!
We have been technically a part of the e-NABLE community for a little while now, as we introduced ourselves a couple of days ago. We have all been excited to finally contribute something physical to the group of people and today is the day we would begin.
Today we began printing our first set of pieces for our first cyborg hand prototype. We right now are printing three fingers, and tomorrow morning we are going to begin to print another set, consisting of a palm and another couple of fingers. I will post again tomorrow giving the aftermath of our two prints, and give some insight on the final results of them. -Christian |
